Let’s get started…
I’m Erica Alfaro and I’m an artist and designer based in Caldwell, Idaho.
I am working towards becoming a full-time freelance surface pattern designer
I graduated from the University of Idaho in 2011 with a bachelors degree in Clothing, Textiles and Design.
I currently work as the lead designer at Cheekys, a western apparel and accessories brand. I have been at Cheekys for over 4 years now. I have had the opportunity to make patterns to be used on apparel products such as shirts, cardigans, sweaters, pants but also on accessories like purses, hats and jewelry.
I have learned so much while at Cheekys and couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunities that have come my way up to this point.
What’s my style?
While I am still in the process of creating and developing my own style, I’m having fun trying new and different ideas. I don’t have the pressure to stick to any specific style and I get to experiment to see what things I like and don’t like.
One thing for sure is that really enjoy using bold and vibrant colors!
I am inspired by nature and my surroundings but also by history. I enjoy referencing old art styles and researching ideas to create unexpected pieces of work. I know my art style will eventually take shape and feel more cohesive. For now the goal is to just make art and embrace the skills I have.
Why I’m selling greeting cards?
I am creating and selling greeting cards not only to showcase my designs but because its something I have been wanting to do for soo long.
Several years ago I was interested in designing greeting cards but I didn’t think I was good enough or that I would know how to run a business.
I faced my fears and now have greeting cards and stickers for sale in my shop. By supporting and purchasing from my shop you are helping me get one step closer to my career goals. Thank you!
